Additional Study Information

Thank you for your interest in the “Coronavirus: Impact on the ASD Community” survey. This online survey is part of the SPARK study. It will measure the impact of COVID-19 (the novel coronavirus) on the autism community, including disruption to services, school closures, and mental health.

It will take about 5-10 minutes to complete the survey. We will send another survey every 1-2 weeks to get an update from you. We do not know how many surveys we may send, but you may choose whether or not to complete each one. Clicking on the "next" button below will open the survey. You may skip any question or stop answering the surveys at any time. Please note that no mental health professional will review any individual survey responses. If you are having emotional health difficulties, we strongly encourage you to (1) tell someone in your life about your feelings and concerns, and (2) to follow up with national mental health resources such as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.

There is no incentive for completion of the surveys. We hope the results will help us learn more about how national emergencies impact families affected by autism.

The survey data will be combined with the other data you have shared with SPARK, including your identifying information. The data will be used to create a scientific report and publications and may be shared with other researchers and/or combined with other datasets as specified in the main SPARK consent form (accessible on your SPARK dashboard). In these reports, data will be summarized from all participants with your identifying information removed.

Your decision to complete this survey is voluntary. You will not be penalized or lose benefits if you decide not to participate or if you decide to stop participating. Your and your family’s participation in SPARK will not be affected if you choose not to complete these surveys. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact: SPARK@sparkresearchmatch.org.

By clicking “next” below and starting the survey, you are saying that you had no questions or have had your questions answered; that you agree to take part in this survey research.
